Qasr Al Watan Abu Dhabi

Qasr Al Watan is much more than a palace — it’s a living cultural monument open to the public that reveals the UAE’s story of heritage, leadership and innovation. The palace stands as both a working seat of governance and a cultural institution featuring exhibits, artefacts, manuscripts, craftsmanship, ceremonial chambers and interactive displays.

Not included

• Taking non-commercial photos and videos is allowed in all areas except the palace interior grounds.
• Valet parking at the Visitor Centre is available from 9:30 to 21:30 for AED 80.
• There are no lockers on the palace grounds; visitors are advised not to bring excess belongings.
• Please set your mobile phones to silent.
• Prayer rooms for men and women are located at the Visitor Centre and at Zayed Gate.
• Visiting hours for Qasr Al Watan from 14 July: 11:00 AM to 8:15 PM
• . Visiting hours for Qasr Al Watan from 8 September: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• The light show runs from 9:00 PM to 9:20 PM.
• Guests may leave the grounds by shuttle buses at 9:20 PM and from the Visitor Centre at 10:00 PM.

Visitors can explore:

• The Great Hall: A soaring architectural marvel with vast columns, ornate mosaics and dazzling chandeliers offering a powerful first impression.

• House of Knowledge & Library: Home to rare manuscripts, historical texts, political documents and cultural treasures documenting science, religion and civilization.

• Exhibition Zones: Interactive displays and cultural experiences that explain governance, traditions, Emirati values and cross-cultural links.

Palace Grounds & Gardens

The palace includes beautifully landscaped gardens and architectural exteriors ideal for peaceful walks and photo moments.

Palace in Motion Show

An evening light & sound show projected onto the palace façade, telling the UAE’s story with narration, themed visuals and music. Show times vary by season and demand; typically held around sunset/early evening on selected days.

Dress Code & Visitor Guidelines

• Respectful/modest attire required — knees and shoulders covered
• Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult
• Children aged 3 and under often enter free (check booking details)
• Photography allowed in most zones (some restrictions may apply)
• No outside food/drink permitted inside palace zones
